Pediatric Cancer Funding is Limited
Every day, 700 children worldwide are diagnosed with childhood cancer of which, 43 children and adolescents are diagnosed with cancer every day in the U.S. — that’s approximately two classrooms of kids.
Childhood cancer research only receives less than 4-percent of the National Cancer Institute’s annual budget.
It is up to all of us to help fund research and find cures, so that someday these children can live without the threat of this illness.
Cancer is Painful
Having a child with cancer is one of the most painful and difficult situations a family can face. There is personal side of a diagnosis, the financial resources needed and the impact that funded research can have for better treatments and more cures.
Cancer in the United States
Thousands of families living in America face cancer every day.
- 1 in 5 CHILDREN who receive a new diagnosis of childhood cancer are already living in poverty*
- 10 to 15% of US families studied were not poor at the time of diagnosis and became poor during treatment for their child’s cancer*
- 1 in 4 FAMILIES report losing more than 40% of their annual household income as a result of treatment-related work disruption—this figure doesn’t account for out-of-pocket expenses like traveling to the hospital and extra childcare at home*.
- Every community in the country is home to families who struggle with food insecurity including rural and suburban communities.
- 1 in 3 FAMILIES face other work disruptions like having to quit or change jobs*
- Financial hardship persists for families at least a year after treatment ends*

What if you knew of a way that there was a way every time you turn on a light in your home, run your appliances throughout the day, charge your cell phone while you sleep you could help children with pediatric illnesses and at the same time reduce the cost of your utility bill.
